Groove Dakshina is 5/6 piece Retro Bollywood Improv band. We play Bollywood classics in a variety of groovy western styles, such as Jazz, Blues, Latin, Reggae and Rock.
We use a mix of electronic and acoustic sounds to create an exciting new experience with highly familiar loved melodies. Our innovative and contemporary western approach to popular Hindi hits, along with live improvisation, gives it a distinctive and unique sound.

While we prefer playing as the full 5/6 piece band, we understand that some requirements need a smaller setup because of constraints of space, group size or budgets.
We are available in smaller sizes - as a 2/3 piece band or higher, which can be customized according to your requirements.
We are an improv band, which means we have a specific approach to the way we experiment with our music. We like to play with the band as it is, but we can add on a female singer or other instrumentalists, if needed.

Pralay Bakshi
An IIT & LSE graduate, Pralay is a reputed voice over artist, business owner and singer-songwriter, with a passion for Bollywood classics.
After 10+ years of working in radio in UK, UAE and India, Pralay moved to Goa in 2011. He conceptualized and has spearheaded Groove Dakshina in Goa since 2018.

Prasheel Kelkar
A prolific guitar player with a music career spanning 15+years as a live performer, studio sessionist, educator and music composer across Goa, Bangalore and Pune.
His experience with 10+ bands across genres such as pop, blues, rock, reggae, latin etc makes him a perfect fit for Groove Dakshina!

Brian Colaco
Brian is a singer-songwriter, producer and music educator, who worked in the music industry in Mumbai before moving back to Goa.
Brian brings his extensive understanding of western musical styles, performance skills and production experience to create a distinctive Groove Dakshina sound.
Bass
Darryl Dsouza
A versatile Bass Guitarist who's played for decades in Mumbai with top bands such as Aquaflow, & major music names such as Pritam, Bombay Vikings, Tochi & more.
A part of Channel V’s house band, he has also opened for major international artists including Brian Adams, Shaggy, Vengaboys & more
Percussions
Sameer Kapadi
A master percussionist who has been a core member of Remo’s band & Silk Route, Sameer plays a variety of instruments such as Cajon, Djembe, Handsonic, Conga & more.
A corporate trainer, educator and events entrepreneur, Sameer’s versatility truly makes him the Groove behind Groove Dakshina!

Savio Rodricks
A highly skilled & experienced pianist & keyboardist, who has been a fixture in the lounges of some of the most prestigious 5 star properties in Mumbai and Goa including multiple Taj properties.
Savio is also a music teacher at a prestigious school & steps in to play bass for the band when needed.
